Ranch Water, Meet Dirty Martini
I’ve never encountered a savory cocktail I didn’t love. My default steakhouse order is a gin martini, very slightly dirty, with plain olives. (Get out of here with your blue cheese–stuffed olives!) But it doesn’t stop there: I’m always game for a Bloody Mary, a michelada, or a salty dog. Bring on anything bright and tangy, briny, or spicy.The martini, although as classic a cocktail as can be, occasionally makes a resurgence in popular culture. In the last couple of years, Gen Z drinkers on TikTok have brought it to the forefront once again, with “filthy” versions and espresso variations taking hold.
