For connoisseurs who know that the season peaks around the beginning of spring, it sounds a bit too soon to be eating mudbugs. But founder and CEO Brooks Bassler says the crawfish are unusually tasty for this early in the season.That’s good news for an industry that’s been looking more like famine than feast in recent years. The 2024 harvest was particularly bad due to a 2023 drought causing low supply and high prices. Thankfully, in 2025, the yield was much improved.
