This was a race largely of style, not substance, and the Democratic voters in Texas have put their faith in state Representative James Talarico over Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett to represent the party in the 2026 U.S. Senate election. In November, Talarico will face either incumbent Senator John Cornyn or Attorney General Ken Paxton, who have advanced to a GOP runoff election that will be held May 26.
