Broadway in Austin Back for Record-Breaking 2026-27 Season

Broadway in Austin, the annual celebration of the greatest plays and musicals on the Great White Way, is back for the 2026-27 season, and it’ll be bigger than ever, with 11 shows announced.

“This season represents everything I love about Broadway – bold new shows, beloved favorites, and stories that speak to everyone,” said Texas Performing Arts’ Executive and Artistic Director Bob Bursey. “With 11 extraordinary productions headed to Austin, this is our biggest season yet.”

As always, musicals fill the lineup, starting with the first of two productions taken from beloved movies: the cross-dressing comedy of Mrs. Doubtfire, followed later in the season by the raucous, Tony-winning musical take on the scathing body image satire, Death Becomes Her.

Real-life musicians provide inspiration for three more of the shows. Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen springs from the 17-time Grammy winner’s own childhood in New York, while A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical tells the life story of the singer-songwriter who created “Cracklin’ Rosie,” “Love on the Rocks,” and, of course, “Sweet Caroline.” Meanwhile, one of the hottest Broadway shows today, the Grammy-winning Buena Vista Social Club, brings the heritage of Cuban music to the Bass Concert Hall.

And if you’re looking for sheer spectacle, then Water for Elephants, with its Drama Desk Award-winning life-size animal puppets, is sure to entrance you before the stage magic of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Best news? All of those titles are available as part of a seven-show package.

Or, if you want an extra night out, adding The Phantom of the Opera makes it an eight-show package, while Waitress, The Book of Mormon, and the returning Beetlejuice are all available as add-ons to either the seven or eight-show packages.Season passes and add-ons are available now at austin.broadway.com.
