Early in Jason and Katy Ballard’s relationship, Jason gifted his fellow UT law school classmate one of his Topsy Turvy upside down tomato planters. A Carrollton native, Jason had enjoyed a taste of farm life during visits to his grandfather’s four-hundred-acre farm in Bardstown, Kentucky, and he understood that Katy, who was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Houston, felt most at ease in nature despite her big-city upbringing.
