Daquinton Stuart drives past a reminder of the failed expansion of his barbecue joint every day. The sign for DQ’s still hangs above the empty building on Live Oak Street in Marlin, nearly thirty miles southeast of Waco. Stuart operated his restaurant there for two years, but after closing last year, he parked a food trailer with the same name a few blocks west.
